(3) EMD GP38 Mother Units:
o Engine Cores: (3) EMD 16-645 prime movers. The units were operational and
running when parked 6 years ago. Crankshafts are free and rotate.
Unit 9501 – Engine 16-645-C – s/n 54-M-55 rebuilt Sept 1995.
Unit 9202 – Engine 16-645-CE – s/n 72-J3-1111 Rebuilt 9-2011.
Unit 9503 – Engine 16-645-C – s/n 58-D-41 rebuilt Oct 1995.
o Compressor Cores: (3) Complete air compressors in running condition when
parked.
o Main Generator Cores: 2 standard core units (operational when parked).
o Newly Rebuilt Main Generator: 1 unit, freshly overhauled and un-turned since
rebuild.
o Resistor grids: The units don’t have any resistor grids for dynamic brake
because they were operating in our yard.
(2) Ballasted Slug Units:
o Driven by the mother units; the diesel engines, generators & compressor cores
are present but not functional.
o Good candidates for structural salvage, rolling truck assemblies, or wheel/axle
core recovery.
Because the core mechanical assets were parked in functional working order rather than
suffering catastrophic service failures, the blocks, casings, and electrical components remain
highly viable for premium overhaul or immediate parts exchange.
